Hulishan fortress——Ring road

Good morning ladies gentlemen, welcome to xiamen. Today, I will bring you into an marvelous view of Ring-road. Supposed the sunlight rock as the landmark of xiamen for a long period, but to put it exactly, the marvelous Ring-road will come to the first landmark in place of sunlight rock. The Ring road is the project sponsored by XM municipal government with investment 1 billion RMB. The reason we named it Ring-road is that it’s truly a high-way around the whole island just like a ring.The whole planned eastern part is 31 Km. And the part we are about to enjoy, is 12.76 Km which is the most exquisite part. Please attention to my left, the 250 meters long sculpture of staff of the song “ the waves of Gulangyu, is the longest staff sculpture on the earth.

And attention to my right, the coastal cannon fortress is the complete preserved ancient fortress in the world. Hulishan fortress covers an area of 13 thousand square meters and can be divided into two parts: the eastern part and the western part. Inside the eastern fort remains still a big canon manufactured in 1881 by the German Krubb arsenal is believed to be the largest ancient one in the world with 280 millimeters as diameter, 13.96 meters as length, 60 tons as weight and 6460 meters as its range. Each one costed 60 thousand taels of silver. The 280 mm krupp cannon has ever played an important role during the war against the Japanese aggressors. The cannon at the fortress is the largest, the earliest and most complete rear-loaded coast cannon preserved at its original site. Here in Rongguang culture relics & treasure hall of the fortress, a smallest iron cannon with only 11 centimeters displayed, made in 13th century in Portugal. The ancient world biggest cannon happens to meet the smallest cannon is really terrific and unique. 

You see, the road is so wide nearly about 60 meters, including two directions main roads with 6 driveways, as well as two-side pavements and parking path. On the way, there are some attractions, such as the Hulishan fortress,Jinzhou paradise and Taiwan folk customs village and the xiamen international conference and exhibition center which are like big pearls setting on the Ring road. Despite from these, have you noticed the coastal line is coincided with the Ring’s outline. And the blue sea is almost unpolluted which is good for swimming. And the first fascinating feature of this road is that it naturally combines with the sea and beach, forming a picture: the farest is the sky, and under it is blue sea. And the beautiful beach just as a “golden line” between the sea and the greens, and the closer is the flowers and purple pavement. And the second one is the vivid artistic sculptures and function squares built for performance locating along the road. Some artistic sculptures like white dolphin leaping, the three generations looking forward to unification are real works. Walking on the beach , what you’ll feel is the wind breezing your face, the fresh air, the sunshine and everything surrounding you are in a harmony. Ok now the big slogan on my left is initiated by the former chairman DengXiaoPing. It means “One country Two systems”. This policy has successfully solved the HK & MC handover, which is also fit to the Taiwan issue. Here on my right, the sculpture of three generation hands in hands on the right really express their looking forward to whole reunification. And the island not far nearly 4 Km, is the Quemony island. And those are DaDan, Erdan where these are still under the Taiwan military’s control. It only takes you ten minutes speed boat to arrive at the opposite Quemony island. Nevertheless, if you want to Quemony, you should have to shuttle through Hongkong or Macao, which will takes you one day at least. The whole Chinese and Taiwan people are waiting for the reunification’s coming.

Here the big size building is the XM international conference and exhibition center. It covers an area of 470 thousand Sq meters with an investment 1.3 billion. This one is multi-function hall which involves the exhibit, meeting, rest and others. In size, it’s the biggest in china and rates the fifth in the world. Each year, it holds the annual china international fair for investment and trade with good influence on pushing SEZ economic forward.
